Dr. Elizabeth Evans joined Salerno Medical Associates, SMA, now Nirvana Healthcare Management Services, NHMS, five years ago as a family medicine physician, with a focus on primary care, diabetes, hypertension, and obesity management, women’s health, sports medicine, and disease prevention. She is based in the MMG office.
After earning her doctorate in osteopathic medicine (DO), Dr. Evans completed a fellowship in sports medicine and a residency in family medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Her professional committee memberships and volunteer work span a decade (2005-2016) and are too numerous to list here. She is the lead author of several published papers and a contributor to several other published studies.
Dr. Evans holds licensure in Family Medicine. Professional certifications include integrative medicine, BLS, ACLS, and Nexplanon. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Board of Family Medicine.
Elizabeth sums up her experience at Nirvana in two words: “Quality Medicine.” She loves that “We are a family that takes care of other families.” In addition, she is pleased when her patients tell her that they have been patients of SMA (now Nirvana) for decades—some of them fondly remember “Mama Salerno” and Dr. Elias. The reason for their loyalty is simple: “They know that we truly care.”
